When Police Sgt. Bob Penney of Champlin was finishing up his overnight shift Saturday, the dog watch shift's routine was broken by a cougar.
Penny and Officer Jeff Martin saw the cougar as it made its way across Hwy. 169, toward the Mississippi River.
The cougar crossed into a residential area along East River Parkway.
Keep a close eye on children and pets, Penney warned residents.

Good attention-getting summary. It's not every day residents have to watch out for cougars. Are there cougars in that area and even in Minnesota? Nice job?
ReplyDeleteI just heard someone taking about this today! That's really scary!
ReplyDeleteI was actually chased by a cougar once! That would be horrible if one actually attacked a child. I wonder if it is a natural pet or one that escaped from captivity like the one that chased me?
